If you are 16 and older, and interested in a future in the Armed Forces OR you want help knowing what career path you should pursue, consider taking the ASVAB. Taking the ASVAB does not automatically enlist you in the armed services.
Students should sign up with Mrs. Harned, as the ASVAB test will be given on December 8 in the Library, starting at 8:15. See Mrs. Harned prior to December 8 to sign up.
The 2nd Annual Winter Formal will be Saturday, December 16 from 7-10pm. Tickets will be $15 and can be purchased the week of December 11 to December 15 during 3rd Period. Virtual students are allowed to attend, but must purchase tickets during 3rd Period. Students with 12 or more unexcused absences will NOT be allowed to attend...get those parent/Dr. notes turned in!! If your date does not attend GCHS, permission forms will become available on Dec. 1. See Mrs. Harned for the form.
BIG weekend for the Marching Cougars at Bands of America Grand Nationals in Indy. 8th in Class AA out of 26 bands, 38th in the country out of 92 bands, AND a Distinguished rating - all on the national level! Congratulations on a well-earned accomplishment!!

Congratulations to Caspian Collard for creating the winning design for the 2024 Cougar Memories Yearbook. Collard's design was chosen by 111/186 students who voted in the contest. Thanks to all the students who submitted a design and to all those who voted on the design.

Individual painted art blocks create a singular artwork that will soon go on display at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center as part of the Arts in Healing program. The GCHS WIN art enrichment class presented the second in the series today to Hospital Marketing Specialist Andria McGregor.
Grayson County High School recognized several students at the monthly school board meeting on Oct. 12 at GCHS. Taryn Solomon, Desiree Pressley, and Ava Gardner were recognized for their leadership in the Sources of Strength program at the high school.

There will be several sessions to attend that will allow you and your student to gain a greater knowledge of what dual credit is, how your child can benefit from this opportunity and the support you as a guardian can provide. Congratulations to the Girls Golf Team members Natalie Garrett, Amelia Newton and Alyssa Merrifield. They will continue play at the state level after earning top 10 spots at the Region Five Championship on Monday, Sept. 18.
Garrett and Newton scored a 94, and Merrifield score a 105 at the championship in.
Class of 2024 Parents. Are you feeling overwhelmed with what is required to graduate, applying for college, completing the FAFSA and/or what to do after high school? Come Wednesday, September 20 from 6-7 pm at GCHS Commons, for guidance. Mrs. Harned and Mrs. Lee will be providing a timeline and answering “what next” questions. This can be an overwhelming process, come with those questions and let us help you navigate through this process.
